ZX250 with a 250 Yammie HPDI Help.

I got a buddy that just got an '09 and he is having some problems with the setup.

Looking for some info for him on props. He is currently running a yamaha prop 27 at about 72-74 loaded and partner, livewells full. turning around 5300 rpms. Problem is its a dog out the hole.

and he went tonight and picked up a yamaha 25 and jumps right out of the hole and is turning 6100. only running 71 with just himself and livewells full.

Said with the 25 his rooster tail is cowling high.

Shouldn't he be running faster than this????

I was thinking he should run a 26 or 27 tempest but I don't know if you can with the yamaha....

Any help would be appreciated....

On mine, raising the jackplate seems to help holeshot. I am seeing about 72 with a tourny load and my big arse. 27 T-1 prop.

get a 26 txp. im running 72-73 in a ZX225.

I think he might need to try raising the motor a little. That helped me. You need to turn more rpms. I just got a 26TXP and haven't gotten to try it out, but will post when I do.
