I have removed the steering wheel, which exposed a single nut and washer. I removed those.
Now how do I get the housing which held the steering wheel off?
All it has is a small "nook", next to the spindle.
Thanks for any info.

Has anyone removed a steering column?
I have tried a "puller", no luck. Something is holding it in place, but I cant figure out what.
Any help is appreciated.

I'm not understanding our post. You are trying to remove the steering wheel from the helm? So far you have removed the steering wheel cap and exposed and removed a nut and washer? But the wheel is still stuck on the shaft?
If that is the case, try this. Reinstall the nut till it is even with the end of the shaft to protect it. Place you knees up against the back side of the wheel and apply pressure to you while sitting in the seat. Use one hand and pull the top of the wheel towards you. Now with the other hand, take your hammer and give the nut/shaft a sharp rap. It should pop loose. It may take more than one hit. If it is rusty, might try soaking it with some penetrating oil if it doesn't pop off.
