92 Intruder 150 aftermarket add ons for more power?

I run a stock Intruder on a 93 Ranger 482VS with a 13.5 x 23 Renegade - no jackplate. The boat runs mid 50's, 57.8 gps best ever, and the engine has been extremely reliable. I would like to have more HP though and am trying to learn what aftermarket improvements could be done to get me closer to the power generated by a new 150 / 175 without sacrificing reliability?

Re: 92 Intruder 150 aftermarket add ons for more power? (Blu-Ranger)

    Call Monty Racing in Florida.

He can do heads, which add about 12 to 15 hp. He has a tuner mod good for about 6 more, and if he ports it, you can expect close to 200 at the prop.

Beyond that, you need to be looking for a black motor, or a Yamaha and calling Hydrotec.

Oh and they don't do mods on this site.

Now if it were me, I would add a jack plate to your boat, start at 6 inches and work on raising the motor.
