2002 Johnson 150?

Just thought I would see if anyone might have a suggestion on a problem I am having with my 2002 Johnson 150.

She starts right up in the morning. After warm-up she runs great to the first fish'n hole. When I start her up after 15 or 20 minutes of fishing she fires right up but when I put her in gear and start to take off she dies. I usually have to tap on the gas a little almost like I'm clearing her throat and then she's fine until I stop and restart her. I have since replaced the plugs with no change.

Any suggestions?

More good mood, , Jeremy, pull the 3 screws off that cover your flywheel. Now on the stbd side you will see the throttle lever and the timing cam. Loosen the phillips screw and make it touch the throttle cam lever. Re-install the flywheel cover and you should be able to make them eat wake .

ChampioNman, unfortunatly I'm like Cole Trickle on Day's of Thunder they tell me to get in the boat and fish and that's what I do but I have no idea which screw your talking about (yes I do know which side is starboard). But fortunatly I'm a programmer so I can upload pictures with the best of them. Hopefully you can help me understand what I'm looking at.

Well he is so on and off about it. Sometimes he just hammers people, and then others, its like he got lucky if you know what I mean, and he's nice.

That's ok, someone else will catch him on an off day, and then I can snicker.

Either that or I will have to start a thread about modding, so I can feel the love.

OK sorry I don't have photo shop on my PC but if you are looking at the motor from the top the lower right side phillips screw needs to be loosened and adjusted to touch the upper right timing cam. U also need to disconnect the throttle cable while making the adjustment and re-adjust the throttle cable to accomodate the adjustment.
