fitting a lrg screen GPS

any one have any Ideas for fitting a 8 - 10" GPS/sonar unit in the cockpit of a fish & ski (sl210). and no, a different boat is not an option, I need room for 5, but fish TX weekly.

also, suggestions for cost effective unit????

Make a new dash panel out of marine grade plastic. don't know if that will work for you or not.

not in any way I can see, worried my hand will hit while steering if I put in factory location behine steering wheel. might fit on top of dash, under windshield ???? tight

I have a Lowrance X-28, it is a nice unit, think they sell for about $1200. Going by the pics in my 2008 Skeeter book it looks like your best option may be using a RAM mount on the side of the console or possibly mounting it on the passenger side, looks like you have a little more room behind the windshield there.

The LCX 27 is a great choice too and they make a ram mount that is an arm you could mount it on the passenger console out in the walk way and just swing it out of the way when you want to walk through.
