    warentee ?'s

    something was brought to my attention from this message board. Some of the E-TEC owners where asking when they should have received the addtional warentee paper work from the carrier. I called my dealer and apparently there was a miscommunication between us and my motor was not put on to the additional 4 years. In addition to that i didnt recieve the 4bucks per HP either. I called my dealer and was asking is there ANY way that it can be added since i did want the warentee.

    Answer rec'd: NO Bombardier will not honor it, even though the recipt shows that i purchased the motor within the allotted time of promotion.

    Is there any way i can get the additional 4 years by proving that i purchased the motor with in the time??

    rusty, seahorse? or any of the other Evinrude guys out there??

    I hate to say it but it is the dealer's responsibility to enter the registration on time and correctly.

    You can try a call to customer service, but I think they will refer you back to your dealer.

    It is a shame, but we go thru this on every seasonal promotion where a dealer does not follow through and the customer suffers. The factory spends a lot of time and effort to educate the dealers on how a promotion is handled.

    I ran into a little disagreement when I bought my boat also. In the warranty it states that the dealer may receive the $4/HP also. The dealer said that they included the rebate in the price they gave me, so in essence their price would have been $800 higher without the rebate. Luckily I caught the issue before I took delivery so I was able to get an extended warranty. Sorry to say, but my guess is the dealership got the $.

    seahorse,

    do you happen to know when the last day for the dealers to send in the applicaton for the exteneted warentee??

    i am pretty bummed about it...

    The dealer does everything online now. BRP sends out reminders to every dealer along with phone calls from the dealers DSM. I did this mistake the first year they ran the 7 year warranty. It was all done by paper then and I missed one. I purchased the warranty for the customer since it was my screw up.

    thanks i will call my dealer again and see if i can work something out. i forgot the sn so that i can post it for you guys to check.
