    New units?

    When does/will Garmin typically release new units? Want to get a couple 93sv chirp but don't want to buy them if something might be coming out soon.

    There are a number of new units coming out "soon", but who knows when that will actually be. Last I heard was early 2017.

    Anything comparable to the 93sv? The 942 might be a little out of my price range as it looks like the sonar portion is sold separately.

    They are coming out with a 10 and a 12 but they are a little pricey. I've got the 1042xsv and it is awesome.

    I don't think you have anything to be concerned about. No matter what they come out with your echoMAP CHIRP 93sv will still do everything it does now. I'm pretty careful to make sure that the units I purchase will do what I want them to. I do still get the bug though for the newest, latest.

    The only ones I've seen announced are the 742,942,1042 and 1242. The first two are touch and the last two are keypad. The first two only have an 8 pin port for transducers. They do have a network/Panoptix port. The last two have a 12 pin transducer port and 2 network ports. My guess is that the first two are aimed at the saltwater market but that is just me. I wouldn't want a unit that the 12 pin transducers couldn't be connected to but they still have black boxes that could be connected that handle all that.

    Then again, when a series is discounted as much as the 93sv's have been, it usually means that another series is about to hit.

    To be perfectly clear; yes? no? maybe?
