Recessed foot pedal tray

I have an 05 Zx225 and would like to put in a recessed tray for the trolling motor pedal. On the 2005 Zx's do i have to worry about bracing this? I have read and heard that some models and years may have to have braces added. Also, if I do this myself (I am pretty good with power tools) will I void my warranty on the hull? the only reason I don't want to have the dealership do this is, its a pretty easy install (I have done another on a Champion).

no, you want need to. i had a 04 zx225 and the deck is plenty strong

I cut the hole using the template and installed it. Works great and no additional support.
