Why does the garmin data cable have three wires white Black green? Where does the white wire go if my unit only has brown and blue?
I read somewhere you can Just get regulars wire if so Wharton size.

My wife asks if I'm going to fish every day. I can't fish every day. Some days I might be sick.
The data sharing cable's third wire is to establish a common ground between the two units. However, a vast majority of installations already include a common ground between units as part of the power wiring (both units powered from the single cranking battery). You won't need the third wire.
