    Lock my SKEETER trailer coupler?

Hey guys, I have looked for a pic of the coupler (I should have took a pic this weekend) because I want to know what you all are using to lock your coupler when not attended?

I use this style on my snowmobile trailer.

However, if you are familiar with the SKEETER coupler (I hope they're all similar, mines a 97) you will see that this particular lock won't work.

    Any ideas?!
    Thanks

    p.s. I just bought SkeeterBill's 97 ZX185c !!! Awesome boat!

I just close my tongue latch and put a lock through the hole my safety pin goes it. Probably not as secure as above picture, also I tow with the lock in the safety hole instead of the pin. More secure that way.

nothing will stop a thief from getting your trailer. even with all the locks and things you can buy, if you don't do nothing to the nut that holds the ball on, it will be gone. just have to take a wrench and unbolt the nut and reinstall it on your hitch. I personally had mine spot welded on the hitch. Down side, have to take a torch to remove the ball.

2 seconds with a bolt cutter, if they want it, they'll take it.

Yes, thanks guys, I know, if a thief wants it, they'll get it!!

I want the lock as more of a deterrent!! The boat is kept safe, but you never know!!

Johnathon, what type coupler do you have? Square or round. I have the square and found one that works. I'll have to take a picture of it when i get home. It's similar to the ones that on on the truck hitch. I found the link. Here is the one i bought. I talked to Lyn Dyer at UFP and he's the one that directed me to this lock. This was the cheapest place i found. http://www.northerntool.com/we...38406

    Re: (fishin couillon)

Another easy and cheap way to stop them from stealing the trailer when it's not hooked up, is to take and old ball of the right size and cut the threads off of it. Then place the ball into the coupler and close it. Then lock the coupler with the lock. Again this will not stop the ones who really want your trailer or boat but it may send them to another easier to steal trailer or boat.

Bingo!! Here is one almost the same, if not the same!
Note that when I put on my lock (pictured above) it just slides off if you pull it foward!!

If someone might show me the hole that I would insert a 'pin' lock type lock into, that would be great!!! I'll get my uncle to go outside and measure the width for it!!
