Need help with my set up.....

OK, 1996 ZX180D, 1996 Mariner Magnum lll, Mercury Tempest ll 23 pitch SS prop, 6" Vance single adjusting jack plate. 59/60 mph with 20 to 22 psi water pressure and 5600 rpms at WOT. I need to know what the best prop and jack plate setting (starting point) for the boat would be to get a good hole shot with top speeds in the mid to high 60's...don't think I could break the 70's. I think the prop was the original prop that came on the boat when new.

Start with prop shaft 3” below pad. Longer jack plate maybe the answer to get into low to mid sixties. I would also suggest having your injectors flow tested and cleaned assuming mag III is an efi. That’s about the most you will see out of a 150 unless you want some motor performance upgrades. Checkout Brucatosvs.com. They provide exceptional merc performance products and injector service.

This is a carbed engine so no injectors...
