one last question about my new striker and batteries

really looking into getting specific batteries for each unit, the 7cv and 7sv. the down view draws .55 amps and the sv draws .66. if I were to get a couple little batteries, say 12v 7ah or 10ah that are sla and rechargeable, that should do the trick? anybody else go this way? I have so many other things to my cranking battery and am concerned about the interference from it all and with two units hooked up to the same battery. those little 12v can be had for 20-40 bucks and I can tuck them in my compartment in front of the dash. thoughts?

The total amp draw for both is only 1.21 amps, so you will be able to run both off the same 10AH battery for 8.2 hours - in theory. However, its best to not draw the battery all the way down or it wont last very long at all. 50% is the usual recommended max.

That will give you roughly 4 hours of run time if both are on the same 10 AH battery or 8 hours if you have two 10AH batteries.

I would want to be sure the batteries you select are true deep cycle. If they are not, you wont want to run them much more than about 1/2 those times I listed.

I dont see any problem running them both off the same battery other than run time limits.

    ^^^ What he said...
I will add - If you go LifePO4, it will be more money but you will get to use 100% of the battery and not shorten the life like you would on a conventional SLA or AGM.
And the weight on those are nothing. Been using them for a few years on my kayaks. Look up Bioenno power.
