    Anyone have a SX190 with a 150 Four stroke?

I have an '07 and it came with a 21 pitch prop. I am running about 6200 RPM's with 2 guys and gear but I cannot get to WOT and I cannot trim out because it seems to be at the limiter. I just had it at the dealer and they contacted Yamaha who said that the 21 pitch prop is the recommended prop for my boat. So, they would not exchange the prop under warranty. Any thoughts from fellow owners? I'm glad I have a 6 year warranty on my motor because if it blows, I have confirmation from the dealer on my paperwork. Thanks Big Al

wow 21? I don't know anything about yammies or 4 strokes but I would have guessed a 23" for that size motor. I run a 24" Tempest (3 blade) on my 150 Merc 2 stroke.

How's the motor height? Trimming out and WOT would be more attainable if the motor was raised....but watch your water pressure and rpms..whatever the max may be for that motor.
I think a 21" would be great if it were a bigger and heavier boat...jmho

Guys?Any ideas or suggestions.I'm far from being a pro so please correct me on anything I wrote.

Sounds like you need a 23p. It would bring you RPMs down to about 5800 and that is about right with a full load. So, when you are running light in the cooler weather you should still stay off the limiter. I would try to borrow a 23M or a 23 Tempest from someone and give it a run. If you find it works out well you can find them for sale quite often on the props for sale forum http://www.bbcboards.net/zeroforum?id=81

I suspect the tach is off a little bit, as the engine will begin rev limiting at 6150. If you are hitting the rev limit, you will definately feel this happen. The ECM will begin dropping out cyllinders at 6150. First one cylinder, then another, and so forth, to keep the rpm below 6150. Typically, the 21M is the prop of choice. It appears as if your setup runs on the strong side . The F150 has a 2:1 gear ratio and runs very well near 6000 rpm.

How about a 10' jackplate, with the propshaft at 3", spinning a 24 or 25 pitch?

That's what they say, but the Skeeters sure do run good with a JP.

I have a 2006 F-150 yamaha on a SX 190 and a 23m prop. I run 59mph at 5800 rpm's by myself. It may be sold soon, as I'm looking at another Skeeter!
