    1996 Johnson Venom 200 What is the rev limit?

    I just wanted to know what is the rev limit for this motor?

    6,000 plus or minus a couple hundred! These are a tough old motor! Just make sure that you rejet #2 a little richer.

    Go up 2 sizes on #2 carb. and get the new brass plugs for the bowls, they will have a tit on the end of em'.

    Rev limit is set at 6700 rpms. Operating range is 5k to 6k.

    My manual says 6700. Its for a 97 though.

    I hit mine when I broke the lower unit. It just kinda shook a little, and the boat quit going.

    I was MAD too. I thought I had blown up the motor.
