My mechanic recently told me that he likes to see close to 20 PSI at WOT for my 05' 225 HPDI. He is very well respected and has been in the boat racing business with Yamaha for quite some time. I had to have an impeller changed because I accumulated some debris in there. There are numerous issues that can affect water pressure.
gah! my wot was 6-7 PSI and the needle never moves off 0 when idling, should I be worried and get this fixed asap?

Yes...12psi is the absolute minimum suggested for WOT. 15# is preferred.
Could be a bad gauge too. Might get that checked too.
Zero at idle is not uncommon, and nothing to worry about.
