skeeter warranty, how does it transfer to a second buyer

thinking about buying a used 06 I-class. Does the warranty transfer to me as the second owner? How about on the other things like pumps, gauges, electronics, ect. I heard I think somewhere on this board that Skeeter will not cover against stress cracks once it gets to the second owner.
    thanks for the help,

You inherit the remainder of any factory warranties on items like electronics, trolling motor, etc. You also get the remainder of any warranty left on the motor. Each of these warranties is by the respective manufacturer and for the period they deem.

As for the boat (hull), Skeeter's warranty is lifetime to the original owner and the remainder of the first 10 years to the 2nd owner. If the boat is sold in the 2nd year from the original warranty in-service date, you get the remaining 8 years. Many boat companies only allow for the remainder of 5 years warranty to the 2nd owner.

I think you also need to send Skeeter a check for something like $300 to transfer the hull warranty.

I don't have the paperwork right here, but I just bought an '06 Skeeter. The warranty for the hull did transfer, but as I recall it is merely a structural integrity warranty. I took this to mean that hull failure would be covered, but little things like cracking would not. If you're getting it from a dealer, ask them for the details. If you're buying from a private owner, I'd direct a call to Skeeter if it was make or break in my decision...
