Fished with the youngest of my three nieces today. Just awesome watching someone else enjoy my new Skeeter as much as I do. And the fishing display she put on was out of this world. Mind you she never used a spinning reel until today, a couple of quick lessons and she was on her own.
On the way to the lake we stopped for live bait, worms and medium shiners. Isn't that the easiest way for kids to get fish? So I thought. Yes she did catch lots of panfish with worms but was hoping for some bass on the shiners, just wasn't meant to be. So she got nasty.
We rigged up two spinning outfits, one with a original floating Rapala, shad color with bleeding hooks. Second was a split shot with a Zoom trick worm, key lime color. Well lets just say the bass never had a chance. By the end of a five hour trip she racked up well over twenty sunfish, ten largemouth and four toothy critters. Not only did I hope to make her day but in return she gave me the most exciting and entertaining day so far with the new boat.
Just what to say thank you Montana for always bringing a smile to me. Love ya.
