my son is restoring a 78 bumblebee with a 115 evinrude. compression on 3 cyl. is 120 on one cyl. it is 90. the mech said that he thought the 4th may come up. it hasn't yet. is there any type light oil that can be put into this cyl. to help loosen this stuck ring.

I once heard of a guy who sprayed a can of WD40 in the cylinder for a stuck ring & it freed it. Make sure the piston is at least 1/2 way up in the cylinder & motor is trimmed all the way up & front of boat all the way down. You want the motor as horizonal as possible.

You can pick up a can at most any Evinrude dealer.
Just follow the directions on the can.
Or put a can of seafoam in the tank and run it for a while.
