    Which tank do you use?

Hi guys, new to the board. It's awesome. Usually hanging out on Razorback boards trying to figure out ways to get a new coach. Anyway I digress.

Just bought a 2003 ZX225 with OX66 on back. Seems like a great boat, not a scratch. Before that owned a 96 ZX180. My dumb question. There are two gas tanks with valve in the back to switch from port, starboard, or both. Where should I set this thing? Is it best to pull from port tank and keep the starboard low to keep weight on the port side? Also on dashboard, there are port and starboard buttons. Are those just to tell you how much gas you have or do they control anything else.

Thanks for helpin a brother out.

sounds like you already know what you're doing.

I leave my gas tank set to BOTH. It will pull from the PORT tank mostly, so be prepared for that side to drain first.

As for the switch, it's simply the gas tank gage. Show's how much gas you have. It can't show both at the same time, so you have to toggle to see how much each has.

Enjoy the 225, you'll love it..

And Welcome to the BBC. It's a great place.

Isn't the whole point behind 2 tanks is to keep the weight distributed evenly? Why keep it on any setting but "both"?

Well heres why you have a tank 'selector' valve. Suppose you weigh 175....your buddy calls you up begging you to take him fishin, which you do. Now your buddy weighs 390, yeah hes a big ole boy, so now you know you need to use fuel out of your port tank to help even out the load.
