Alarm acting weird...

I posted this in the merc forum, but was hoping I could get some advice here too.

My alarm has been acting weird.

I have a 1988 Skeeter w/ 175 Merc BlackMax

It stopped beeping when I turn the key to the on position. Then a few times as I was getting on plane I heard a faint ghastly longer beep for about 3-5 secs. It stops once on plane. This has happened a few times. I took it out the other day and I got a beep-beep when I turn the key to the on position, but it only happened twice throughout the day when starting the boat. I still got the ghastly beep a few times that day. My oil reservoir on the engine has been full and my temp doesn't seem to be high.

I'm thinking I have a short somewhere, my oil magnet thing is messed up, or my alarm module is bad. Anyone experience this before and/or have any advice?

try unpulging the wires from the cap on the oil tank on the engine . Then run it that way for the day if it quits goin off then its the cap.
You still have to mix gas and oil50-1 in the full tank. to make sure that you are getting oil. There is a sensor to tell you if the oil pump is workin .
Most of the time it is the cap or the worning modual

Would a messed up oil pump cause hesitation when you try to go?
