I just bought a Ranger Z20 w/ E-Tec 225 HO 25 hrs. on it manufactured in August, 2005. No updates have been done, sold by dealer with full warranty, picking up Friday. Are there any specific updates I need to request. I've already asked that the motor be set for XP100. Any mapping, lower unit or other concerns I should address prior to delivery? Thanks in advance for the input.
Model number & Serial number please. See directions @ top of forum page that says READ THIS BEFORE POSTING.
There are a number of bulletins describing updates that should be performed on your engine if it is indeed an 05 225HO.
If you are buying this from an authorized Evirude dealer he has access to all of this information and should be able to perform the necessary updates before delivery.
Sorry, I did read the "Read this before posting" portion, don't have the motor in my possession yet, just know it's a 2005 225 H.O. E-Tec manufactured in August of 2005. I have my dealer do his best, thought someone here might have a good pointer as my dealer is a few hours away and return trips are a drag (trailer/drag get it)
what dealer did you buy it from? put it this way is it Connecticut?

Welcome to the board. You have found your self a nice Ranger.
Also, there are a few on this board that are picky with the serial # issue, some that understand you are wanting help and there will be those that will do their best to bend over backwards to help you, even without be picky with the serial # thing.
