I know this has been beat to death. Just wondering those that have installed how they have held up. Ordering one this week for an '06 ZX250 and was especially wondering how those with Z series boats like their choice since install?? Thanks.

You will not be sorry. It is so much more comfortable.

I got the flatfoot from cabelas. It is powder coated Aluminum I believe. Very sturdy![]()

i put the comfortroll in my zx225 last winter. that was the best thing i have done to my boat.
I chose the Flat Foot over the Comfortroll. I kind of like the look of the rounded Comfortroll more, but I like the functionality of the Flat Foot better with the slight angle at the back for heel clearance. Just works better for me. I didn't feel comfortable getting the one made of plastic, even though it is supposed to be pretty tough stuff.
Might want to go to the ramp and ask a couple of folks if you can stand on the deck and try the different ones out to see which one you like better.
I will tell you that I will never have another boat without a recessed tray!![]()
I put the Pro-Tray in my ZX176C. I like it and my back loves it!
I also put a FlatFoot in my zx185 this past winter. Back pain has gone away but my rear is a little sore from kicking myself for not doing it sooner.
gho4950,
I did alittle research after reading a couple of post. I contacted the folks at flatfoot and comfortroll.
The differences were the deminsions which might play a role into selection. The flatfoot for a MK was 11 1/2" by 17" and the comfortroll was 9 1/2" by 17". The other difference was the life time guarntee. Comfortroll will replace if anything goes wrong with it and it is printed in literature. Although flatfoot does not print a quarntee they say they will also replace if something goes wrong.
Flatfoot has a little incline and comfortroll does not.
Comfortroll has a small hole in the front of the tray located on the slanted part with a rubber gromet. This will work well for my MK 101 that has the transducer cable coming from the front of the foot. I can run it throught the hole and not have to run it under the instrument cap at the front of the bow.
Fourth, and the final straw for me was that the flatfoot is square at the rear, the comfortroll is rounded and both are made of aluminum and powder coated. I went with the comfortroll b/c i thought the rounded would give me greater access to the pedal than the squared off one.
Just some thoughts. I am sure that I have not exhausted all the options of either with this post. Like CA Ken says try some at the ramp. I am sure they are both good products.
Have not installed the tray yet. Am looking at the placement right now.

Brian, I also went with the Comfortroll just because you can use either the MG or the MK. Never know when you may want to switch tm's.
I installed mine in an hour and a half. I did remove the storage box just to have a look-see before I started cutting.
Word of advise. When you mark your line, cut on the outside of the line. I had a brain fart and cut on the inside, I then had to do a little trimming after that to get it to fit.
Only other advise I can give is make sure you have at least 2 jigsaw blades. I wore the teeth plum off the first one it got so hot. Barely made it all the way around with the other blade.
Good luck!

You're the second person that i've heard from that has said they had problems with jigsaw blades. I am going to use one that I saw on TZX 190 Recessed Pedal Tray Install (Flat Foot)... Which was a post by CA Ken. Hopefully it will do the job.
Your installation looks great. You sure you didn't have it done professionally![]()
Thanks,
Brian
The blade I used (and was used by someone else as well) is really good. Cuts it like butter and does not wear since it's carbide. You will only need the one.![]()
As for the two sizes on the Flat Foot, the smaller (Motorguide) model is apparently the same size as the Comfortroll and the smaller Flat Foot will hold an MK pedal. I tried it myself. Brad from Flat Foot explained it to me that the reason behind the larger size available for the MK is that it gives more room in case you drop something in there. Example - you are fishing a tournament and a loose crankbait falls into the well. It lodges in such a way that you can't get full travel out of your pedal. The extra room gives you a fighting chance to get it out of there quicker and easier!
I just liked the extra heel clearance you get on the Flat Foot and to me, not having to pretty much line my foot up to the pedal if I'm pre-disposed while fighting a fish.
Like I said, try some out to see which one you like for yourself!
I installed a Comfortroll in my 05 ZX225 last year and it also is the best investment I have made for my boat.![]()
