Guys, if youre selling a boat, be upfront about any issues it may have. Today i drove 5 1/2 hours one way to meet a guy halfway and buy his boat. We have been talking for a few weeks and ive asked multiple times about any issues the boat may have had. He told me about a few small things and we adjusted the price accordingly and i was perfectly ok with them. We had settled on a price we both deemed fair, and i was ready to buy. Coming from central KY i show up at the ramp today in southern Missouri ready to buy. Driving up to the boat it looked great from 100 feet. As soon as i stepped out of the truck and took one look my stomach absolutely sank. This 2 year old boat was absolutely TRASHED. I cant even begin to list everything that was wrong with it, but the bow roller stand having been ripped off and appearing to have been welded back on by my 6 month old was a good place to start. It was bent beyond repair, the welds were all cracked amd the rust was about to make it fall off again. There were multiple rips and gouges on the hull down to the fiberglass. There was a rip in the fiberglass atleast 2' long on the topcap right under the gas neck. The carpet that i was told was "perfect" looked like it had been parked outside under a tree for years with mud and dirt ground down into it. Mud standing in the livewell. Boat had never been washed, ever. The black motor appeared brown from the grease and grime. You couldnt tell what color the jackplate was (stainless i suppose). One perko latch was completely missing with a bare hole down into the battery compartment. The spare tire was in the back of his truck amd thetiedown was bent so that it wouldnt hold the tire to the trailer. It was a long, somewhat expensive lesson learned by me on shopping for boats online and i take a good chunk of the blame. The boat is listed on this site, so buyer beware
