I have a 2003 SX200 with a 200 VMAX OX66. I would like to put a jack plate on it but someone told me the transom in an SX200 was not made for a jack plate and that there have been issues with transoms that have had a jack plate installed. Transoms cracking and even coming out of boats. The only thing I have found online is that it voided the warranty but nothing about damage to the transom. I have seen some SX200's with jack plates. Anyone have info on this?
Well, I called Skeeter and they told me I could put the jack plate on but it would void any structural hull warranty. The 2002 models used in the Championship tournament were the only boats that came from the factory with a jack plate and they were just standard bolt on plates nothing added to the boat like extra bracing. Thanks Skeeter Jay for the reply. When I told him I knew of some from the factory with jack plates he said no way. Then I mentioned the 2002 Championship boats he said oh just those 20 boats. That is when I was able to get out of him that structurally it will work fine.

Basically, sounds like the boat can handle it w/o any problems.

Yep. Not sure if I can get the hull warranty transfered. The boat was traded in at a dealer. I know they did not transfer the warranty to themselves. It cost $200 and Skeeter need the bill of sale. Mine will have the dealer name and not the name of the previous owner who had the hull warranty. If I can transfer the warranty I will do that and put the plate on anyway. Noticed some posts where people had hull work done under warranty even though they had a plate on the boat. Since it is only $200 it is worth it.
