    Molded vs. Modular Console

Does anyone know if you can still get a molded console on a 2007 zx225 this was one of the main reasons I was thinking of changing from the boat I own know to a skeeter the leg room behind the modular consoles I have been in in the past do not have enough leg room for my boat partner who is 6'5" also the modular consoles do not look very sturdy sat in a few boats last year at the boat shows and they seem to be a little shacky that's why I really liked the skeeter. to me modular consoles created one more piece of equipment that can break. I would not feel very safe doing 70+ mph across water with something held together by screws

it appears that they are going to all be modular. im sure you could find a good price on a brand new 2006 model right now though. this is the time of year i bought my boat and i saved a good bit

Re: Molded vs. Modular Console (gade)

There are a few 2007 listed by dealers without the Modular Console. I have seen several of these before the model change. I love my modular consoles on my 20i and have never had them feel like they were coming away from the boat. They are not only screwed on but also epoxied. Once the console is put in it is epoxied to the top cap. They are not removable once installed. Skeeter took several years to design and I'm sure they looked at durability. It makes it easier for me to get out from under the console. I'm a pretty big guy and 6' tall and absolutely love them. Lots of leg room and knee room.

The driver side seems to be ok it is the passenger side that cautions me there is definitly less leg room on the passenger side also why would they epoxy the passenger console the main reason for the modular console is so it can be removed to be converted to a single or dual console correct

Grace Marine in Bettendorf, IA (about 2 hours west of you) has one 2006 ZX225 left. It is dual console and they are the molded style that you are looking for. It is a gorgeous boat. I'm thinking you could do pretty well on it now since I think this is the last 2006 they have left. email junior@gracemarine.com if you want more info.

Re: Molded vs. Modular Console (gade)

The modular console is both bolted and epoxied. It is not designed to be taken in and out. If you want a dual console the console must be permantely mounted with bolts and epoxy. This concept allows dealers the option to order a boat and have the ability to fit both single or dual console consumers without having to stock both styles. You can order a boat as a single. Or single and have the second console shipped or factory installed as a dual console. It also requires less molds in the manufacturing process. One top cap mold works with both styles.

Other manufacturers epoxy the second console when the owner wants it installed, too.
