ZX 195
In a couple days I'm going to test drive a 1998 zx 195c with a 200 yamaha OX66.I've always run Merc/Mariner engines, and never owned a skeeter in the past. The boat seems to be in excellent shape, and I am very impressed with the layout and platform on the boat.
What can I expect for the ride and speeds from this boat? I have a buddy who has a 97 zx 185 that I've fished from a few times. Will the ride on the 195 be quite a bit better, the 185 was pretty brutal in good chop. What kind of reliability can I expect from the Yamaha?
Thanks for any input.

Re: ZX 195 (AZYoungGun)
I have a ZX175 (19ft) and fished with a guy that has a ZX150 (18ft)...the rides do not even compare...boats are the same year...donot know if both are the same width but there is a lot of differnce in the ride and the performance for just a foot more in length and 25 more horsepower.....I think you will be quite pleased..I have fished out of a 195 and it had plenty of room and power....

Re: ZX 195 (Bigg-Un)
I had a 1999 ZX195c with a Merc. 200 on it and I really liked the boat. It was a very stable platform and it handled rough water fairly well. I am a big guy and never felt the boat was too small. It also has above average performance speed wise. It was well built and a good boat. i fish plenty of tournaments and always had plenty of room rather I was fishing solo or as a team.

Re: ZX 195 (Mark Perry)
I have a 98 ZX176c(17'6") and have been told many times that it rode alot better than some 18's and 19'ers. I think it has a lot to do with the driver, and less to do with the hull.
