Go to http://www.boattraderonline.com and do a search. Enter Skeeter in the manufacturer field and 20i in the keyword field.
See what you think of 57K!
i haven't priced a 20i, but with 07's coming out in a few months ( if there not already out yet ? ) and the price I paid for a custom ordered Zx225 last year ( with every option you can get on a boat ), that price is about $10K too high. I would think you could order a brand new one, pick your colors and options and get out the door for under $50K. Call me crazy, but that's what I'd expect. I certainly wouldn't pay that kind of money for a boat that I didn't personally pick the colors, options, etc... I'm not sure how often you buy boats but spending over $35,000 for a boat, I'd want that sucker to be EXACTLY like I want, cause I'm planning on keeping it for a LOOOOONNNNG time.

Just looked at one a couple of weeks ago, 20i, decked out and it was about 46-47. MSRP is 57, wonder if that's what they quoted you.

Yep. I'm not sure if other manufacturers do it or not, but Skeeter has "window stickers" made for each boat, just as a car does.
He was definitely quoting MSRP at 57K as that is what I saw one at the boat show "stickered at". Seems to me if he wanted to make a sale, he'd either quote a real number or none at all. To quote $57K on a demo is to prompt a "click" for a response on the other end.![]()

Yeah, that boat on eBay has been relisted a few times now. That sure is one fine boat. I would be all over it if I had a price range close to it. Way off for me.![]()

Mine was a 1 yr old demo with a sticker price of 58, but I ended up paying a little bit under 40.
Give me a call at 417-831-2564 and ask for Marty. I have one left in stock that I can sell for $39,900.00. It is brand new '06. It has never been in the water.
I got a 21i w/ 300 HPDI for under 50, so I think 57K is a little steep!![]()
Saw an ad at Fishingworld.com boat classifieds for a 2006 20I for 37,000.It's a dealer demo.check it out.
i can get you a 20i for alot less than 57000. more like low 40's. Ive got several give me a call at 864-269-6200 ask for Ben or Marty
There is a reason you think the price is high, it's called Skeeters MSRP, Manfacturers SUGGESTED Retail Price. We operate our dealership by rules and one is not to quote someone out of our territory over the phone a price less than retail. Dealers like some who have posted on this board should practice the same policies because 9 out of 10 times the local dealer is the person stuck with the price that is quoted to a customer hours away, sometimes even faxing quotes from places like NC to KY.
Like any dealer we make deals, but we only do it after we have met in person with the customer and know they have an intention of doing business with Plapp's Pro Outdooros. Sometimes after numerous discussions we will do this over the phone, but only with a committment from that customer. We are not in business to hurt another dealer like some of the dealers down south.
If you are serious about the boat, call Sean Wieda and make an appointment to see the boat, I'm sure you'll be happy.
Thanks,

I personally respect the fact that the dealer in question responded to your post. I also agree with his way of doing business. I think its kind of backstabbing for other dealers who aren't even board sponsors and some who are to come on here slamming another dealer. Many might think its a great thing to have dealers fight over price with one another, however in the end the losers are the customer. My advice is to go see a LOCAL dealer and negotiate a price with him. This way you can see what all he offers in the way of service commitment to the fisherman and the fishing community. I do know Plapps spends a lot of its own money within the fishing community in ky, They donate to just about any circuit or club that asks them. When i get ready for my next boat, I will definitely go see the People at Plapps that do business with integrity.
That was a good post Matt. I have met Matt Plapp and his Dad on several occasions since we are both Skeeter and Triton Dealers and I know they are great people to deal with. I would try to buy from your hometown dealer first and if they aren't satisfying you then look elsewhere. From my experience and hearing stories the dealers that are willing to under cut the local dealer or sell well out of their territory isn't really interested in servicing you after the sale which is one of the most important things when buying a new boat.

kymike (7:04 AM 7/12/2006): I wish they would have told me that on the phone..I thank you for the information and I would like to talk with you about buying one..I own a 03 Skeeter and will never buy anything else..The reason I called You all was because the one here gave me a price on a demo and I thought it was out of line and Their offer for My boat was way too low..I just want to Purchase a New Boat,No Demo..And I Thank You for taking the time to contact Me... Mike..
I'm glad to see some people see what I see. It amazes me the number of websites that I go to where people are on there trying to direct business to their company but have never sponsored the board before, which reminds me by BBC invoice is due:) I better send Al my check.
I would also say there are a lot of good dealers out there like Plapp's, Aim Marine and many others who will back what they sell. It's easy for a dealer 6 hours away to sell a boat for a lot lower price knowing they'll never see the customer again.
And also thanks for your comments regarding supporting the fishing community. We spend over $100,000 annually just on the anglers because would not exist without you, thanks for all your support.
Matt
Matt are you going to the Triton Dealer Meeting next week? If so I will see you there.
