    Little video from Australia

    Hi Guys
Here is a little video we shot in Australia on my current Skeeter ZX190.
It was done during the Windamere Golden Classic Tournement in Nov 2006.

The Golden Classic is a Golden Perch (Yellow Belly) comp. They are an Australian native fish that have been sucessfully stocked into many man made dams/lakes here.

Click away and hope you enjoy.

    Cheers

    Cheers BJ

Last weekend we had the first Skeeter Owners Tournement chasing Australian Bass. There were about 20 Skeeters there and was set on Lake Glenbawn which is about 3hrs drive from Sydney. The lake is set in one of our better wine growing areas and a beautiful place to be.

Being a saltwater fisher it was a great change to go fish a inland waterway and chase "other species".

I got a bit lazy at this one and didn't pull out the cameras but I do know some of the others frequent these boards so hopefully they will post some here.

This was one of the first comps of this sort here in OZ, single branded owners comp and really has set Skeeter apart from all the other brands here. I am so glad I bought a Skeeter and I get to be apart of these sorts of things!

Now I just can't wait till the new boat arrives!
11 days to go and counting!

Awesome video. Just a couple questions is that 200 on the back of the ZX190? I thought ZX190 were only rated for 175hp? Or does Australia not have Max Hp Ratings? Anyway keep the videos coming - Enjoyed watching!

PS: Would love to see some Lifejackets worn. Things happen to fast and just hate to see anyone get hurt because they weren't wearing a lifejacket.

    Hi Doug
Yeah the importer has let the slightly larger motors on with the zx series. The new boat (zx200) with a 225HO should get up and go! (I hope )

All of the saltwater comps you do have to wear l/jackets. Not sure why the fresh water ones they don't yet, well the 2 that I have fished anyway.

Wont be long tho as the faster boats start coming. Go back 3 years ago there wasnt a tournment boat here that would do 60mph. A fast one was 45mph! How things are changing here and very fast at that!

In the very near future I can see it being compulsory to wear one anywhere when on the plan and yep I would have to agree with it. I know shot gun starts and the like have already been ban here and the boating associations are already looking at the L/jacket thing.

Anyway, thanks for your reply Doug.

Was it just a big fish tourney? Just curious why you let them all go.

You guys must have some aggresive turtles over there. I have never caught a turtle in the mouth on a crankbait let alone a fast moving rattletrap.

How fast does a ZX190 go with 200 Mercury Racing engine. Man those things look so small from the front side. THey look about the same size as a 90HP Evinrude.

Re: Little video from Australia (TexasZX225)

    Thanks again guys.

    Tex
The Windamere Golden classic is more of a social type of comp. It's the last of the year with no prize money and most don't take it to seriously. More than anything else.

We fish for the trophy and it's on total length but there is big fish prize as well. It's a great way for all to get together and have some fun with out the pressures we put on ourselves.

The ZX190 go's great. it's really just straight out of the box with a little 23 pitch 4 blader on it. it does 68mph all day everyday 1 up or 3 up. The boat is used mainly in the salt and I only fish the fresh 1 or 2 times a year. I'm just to lazy to drive to the fresh . I live next to Sydney Harbor and my local boat ramp is 800m(2400ft ) away and with such good fishing on my door step, why go elsewhere??

I did borrow a different prop to try, a 25 pitch 3 blader and yep I got to 72mph with 2 up but the hole shot was crap and I could only get to 5850rpm. So with another 500+ rpm to go a 24 3 blader should work well methinks.

The motor is great but more engine capacity works better in these heavier hulls. My friend has the same hull with a 200 HO and man that thing gets up and boogies! More cubes to spin the bigger prop.

    Cheers again
    Greg
