    Ranger Z20 Performance Question

I have a 2006 Ranger Z20 with a Yamaha 225 hpdi with a Yamaha 25 p prop. At WOT I am turning 5600 to 5700 RPM's and 67 to 68 mph. This is with two people in the boat and tourney gear and two half to 3/4 tanks of gas. Is this what I should expect or should I be getting better performance? If so what can I do to improve this? Thanks guys for any and all advice.

    Jackplate?
    Stock T1?

'08 Z20 w/ 225HPDI worked T1, 8" JP = 73-74mph GPS loaded. There's no Hole Shot, it just goes forward, and start hitting the trim button.

I have an 08 Z20 and have a 10" plate. Around 68 to 70 is about all I can get.

    It's the worked T1
Dinged the first one on a ramp, had it reworked, never was the same, it lost rake or something.
Got another new T1, had it worked, and it's back to where it should be.

The Z20 is weight forward, and requires a butt load of tip cup with a ton of rake to get that bow up. If you can't get the lift, you'll never get the speed.

Re: Ranger Z20 Performance Question (Table Rock Special)

Agree with table Rock. I had one with a 225HO. With a properly worked 26 Tempest it would run 73 or so. With anything else it was a 68 mph boat. IMO its a very hard boat to get running good. Definetly needs a 250. After I dinged the tempest no amount of prop working ever got it running again.
