I am looking at upgrading my boat to either a z21 or z520 or z521. I know the difference in the lengths. What my questions is, how much difference is there in the ride in big rough water between the z21 and the z500 series? Where I live the wind is always blowing and the closest lake is rough 90% of the time. Also wondering if there is any difference in the way the boat fishes.

The rough water performance of the Z521 will be the best of the three and it has better storage.

I have a Z520, but would have to agree w/ this guy. Rode in a guides Z521 and it was great in the big stuff
Yup that about sums it up. That said z520 is the best on the thruster.....
My fishing partner has a 2012 Z521 with a 250 SHO. It is the most awesome all around fishing boat that I have ever fished out of.The ride is great! The SHO with 2 of us and tourny load will do 72mph. If I had the money I would buy one today.
Botto, I loved reading this as I have a 2012 Z-521 with a SHO being built right now. I have never read a negative comment on this hull, and really look forward to fishing it for years to come.
If you aren't looking at new rides, save a few $$$ and look at an older 521VX. Plenty of hull for anything in IA from 'boji, to Rathbun, to the river and its barge wakes.

I will triple what Peter just said, not a rougher lake in the country than Ky Lake and the 521 does a great job on it. The Z520 fishes better in my opinionbut the ride and storage goes to the Z521.
