    Z520 w/ 250 pro xs cranking battery?

What cranking battery are you guys using? I've got 36v tm, 2 power pole pumps, hyd. plate, not much room back there. I currently have a 24m exide that meets merc specs but its 3 1/2 years old and needs to be replaced.

A Decca 31 series AGM, not cheap but will carry everything all day long. The AGM will also recharge faster than than a conventional wet cell.

Problem is I don't have room for a 31. Do you guys have pics of how you have everything arranged?

I have same boat and I have 4 series 31 Deka gel batteries as well as that mammoth Minn Kota charger and also a fuel/water separator you can't see in this pic and still have room for other "stuff".

    +1 I just bought 4 Deka AGM 31's for my Z520.

And whatever you do, stay away from Interstates, they are garbage!!!

The only Deka dealer in my state is over 3 hours away (and very "independent" minded.).
There is a Sears store 1/2 mi away and carries one of the best available. PM-1

They are all very pricey but you want the best, right?

I have the same setup as you. I put the Sears PM-1 for the cranker and 3 Optima 31's for the troller 2 years ago. Plenty of room and no issues like the Interstates I removed.

This is what I have going on. Charger is sideways by oil reservoir and that is the cranking batter right below it. Not sure why they rigged it like that? I may have to turn charger and battery around.

The 31 series cranking battery will fit if mounted crosswise unlike your present setup.

Those pumps need to be mounted in the very back under your splash well cover then u will have plenty of room. The battery charger can be mounted in the center where it is suppose to go.

I am not trying to steer you away from the decca or sears. I hear they are both great. However, if space is an issue, a group 27 optima blue top should drop right in your group 24 tray. I am not sure if it meets mercury specs though.
