I spent half a day or so in the alabamaphoenix 921, and I must say there are a few drawbacks to owning this particular model.
First, despite having arms as long as an orangutan, I found it awfully hard to reach the rear compartment behind my running seat. Problem? Back deck is too big. Speaking of too big, in order to verbally communicate effectively, I really had to strain my vocal cords due to the vast distance between us. Next time, I'll remember to bring a megaphone. I'm pretty sure one will fit in that compartment I couldn't reach, along with my rain suit, mask and tackle.
Even though I am rather enormous, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't shake the boat hard enough to cause Jerry to lose his balance and fall overboard, granting me extra fishing time in hopes of gaining a lead in the fish count. This leads me to the next disappointment: what has continually held true in my 618, does not hold true in the 921. I was outfished from the FRONT of the boat, rather than the back. And to think, I really had high hopes for this trip...
Seriously though, it's an AWESOME bird! I was granted the privilege of driving this rig, and WOW! It immediately hops up on plane with very little bow lift and drives/handles like a dream. The water was smooth today, but it absolutely ate up big boat wakes. I am more than impressed!
