    Second console question

I had a second consoled delivered today. Can't get it in. Does the cup holder have to be removed for it to fit? Also the console doesn't want to snap into the three hole receptacle. I'm afraid to force it. Any suggestions?

    Re: Second console question (Camaroboy)

I just leave my cup holder off, because removing it and putting it back on is a PITA for me. I think it's in a strange location anyway, and the passenger already has one by the floor. Is anyone really so thirsty that they need two? The captain of the boat only has one!

You might need to take some silicone spray to the three grommets (or whatever they're called) on the front so it slides in easy.

I always wet the rubber grommets before putting mine in seems to help

...but seriously. I've had take mine out once a year and put in in once a year and it it still a bit tight. I use Palmolive or even reelsaver (silicone spray) and its not to big a deal. It is a very nice option fishing w/ my family.

Since the poor guy isn't a regular poster, I was going to spare him on the bacon lube. But since you brought it up, bacon lube works great. Plus it smells and tastes great!

So you're saying I have to pop out the cup holder and then I'll be able to latch it in place? I don't post much but I have lurked on this site for a year and a half. Just got my new 721 yesterday-I got the bacon lube bit

Yes, grab the cup holder from the bottom and pull, it pops right out. Just FYI, when and if you want to put it back on it "looks" like you would rest the top on first then push the bottom on, HOWEVER I have found it easiest that if you put both the bottom and the top on at the same time it is so much easier! I tried for days and agree with CHARLIECFH ...PITA until you find the niche, then its easy sauce.

    Re: Second console question (charliecfh)

According to one of the guys from Phoenix, can't remember who, this weekend at the classic, I was told to pull the console at least twice a year and apply lubricant to the three post so they won't stick. He said the rubber can get hard, making it tuff to remove the console.

Thanks for the advice. A little dishwashing soap and some muscle got it done. Heading to the camp in Toledo Bend this afternoon. Will take some pics and post. Man I feel like a kid again!

One word of advice on the cupholder, pull the bottom out and then up. I played hell the first time trying to get it off. I literally had to take to cupholder apart to see how it was attached to the boat before i could get it off. Out and then up!
