Screw it back in to the valve. You need a C clip puller to pull the C clip that holds the release screw. Once you release the manual release bolt you will loose all fluid and all hope is lost except to spend money to take the unit to a dealer and wait for years![]()
. You will need to replace the C clip and the O ring on the seal and fill and purge the Trim system.
If you try to remove the manual release valve be sure the motor is supported on the service bracket, if not the motor could fall and cause injury.
I have not been able to get the screw to move either direction from its original position. If I understood the steps for removing the valve correctly you would remove the c clip and then turn the screw counter clockwise to take it out.The motor slowly leaks down when tilted up so I was going to back out the screw to see if there was any trash in the valve. If that didn't fix it I was going to replace the valve and o rings to see if that would do it.If not I am going to have to find someone who can fix it.The wait will be tough if this doesn't fix it as I just waited four weeks for a local shop to look at it only to be told they couldn't do it when I took the boat in.![]()
I have the engine supported but havent been able to get it on the service bracket. The boat has twin engines and niether one will tilt up far enough to use the service bracket.Something else to look into.
Thanks again for the help so far.
I take it this is a salt water boat?
May try some heat and a BFH.![]()
Yep saltwater. It is nice to have a saltwater boat until you have to fix something.I keep it all sprayed down well with a corrosion inhibitor but it only does so much. Thanks again.
