    Informal mini rally

I know of two 721's that will be on Dale Hollow first week of Nov.
Anyone else interested in coming? And yes guess we will allow those non bird owners to join in sense we already have one Strato's that will be also.
Dale Hollow is in Northern TN on the KY/TN line. Small Mouth have a slot limit of 15-21" and only one a day over is allowed. Also the lake the world record was caught in.
Its a blast catching them even if they do not make it over 21" because they are getting ready for winter and are in good health and fight like crazy.
I use MH bait casting gear spooled with Fluorocarbon Line. Out of state fishing license can be got on line here https://www1.tn.wildlifelicense.com/index.php
Water can run from slight stain to gin clear, depth I usually fish10-40 ft., a lot depends the how much the water has cooled off to by then, with around 40 deg. being ideal.

Not to sure about anything as of yet. A lot will depend on when Barry will be back with his new 721. Right now I would say you can put in anywhere you would like and we will figure on a place to meet. This time of yr I always put in at Holly Creek. If any of your are going to be using Horse Creek (near the Dam) be careful of the docks. They have angle iron on the bottom and the rear of the Phoenix's can slide under them real easy......leaving a nice big scare. Which happened to my '09 first wk I had it.

    Re: Informal mini rally (nightbasser)

Will be just for Sat. Nov. 5th. And right now am just thinking of have having everyone meet at first island (1st island north of dam) at a certain time. Or we can pick someplace else like Holly Bay which is about mid lake) Barry is staying at Horse Creek which is way down by the dam. Don't know about the rest of you but I only fish the central part of the lake.
Also look at a map and see where you will want to fish, because to fish the whole lake 2 state (KY,TN) fishing licenses are required.

Junior you show up with a 921 are you going to be fishing for fish or fishing for a sale Sorry Sue has already said NO.....NO I don't care how much bigger and better it will ride....told you the one you have now is it, your last boat.

    Re: Informal mini rally (SilverFox66)

Make sure and bring cloths for highs that could be in the high 40' to low 50's and have seen it down to 32 for a high, as well as snow

Guess that means will figure on meeting at first island........now what time? early or let it warm up some

If it is real cold day break bite is usually not all that good, might start around 9 AM or so. A lot depends on the weather.

Lets hear some times everyone would like to meet and just a friendly get together or do we want to say $10 each and big SMALL MOUTH takes it all.

Barry has Brad told you what jigs and trailers to us and if so can you get them in time or you want me to pick you up a dozen or so. That lake can eat jigs real fast with all the black shale as well as chunk rock.

Anyone else need any help on what to use, etc. Brad or I either one can help out.

Brad thanks for helping them out on finding 1st island, room etc.

Anyone wanting to stay more than one day and does not mind driving 45min. from the lake, we have a extra bedroom down stairs as well as plenty of room for boat parking.

Ed how about this? $20 a boat. Half of the pot goes to the largest under 16" and half to the big over 21" If no over's come in. The big under 16 gets it all. So you can weigh in 2 fish per boat. 1 over and 1 under..... I suggest we meet up around 9:00 am and fish till 3:30. That will give everyone about 6 hrs to fish. What do you all think?

I may be in on this if you guys don't mind. I don't know my work schedule yet but I'd love to come up and fish Dale Hollow. I don't know what kind of boat I'll be in yet. Still haven't made up my mind.

More time figuring out who will win, plus the fact you will need some kind of scale.
    But majority rules
All I did was throw the idea out to see who might be interested in doing this. Hell I don't even know if I will be able to attend do to my back (titanium rods in back and cold weather do not mix well). But that being said what ever the majority would like to do. I fell the simpler you keep it, less time is spent at weigh in (which can not be done on the water)
Horse Creek is way down by the dam and will be a farther drive for guys coming from up north.
My idea would be to just make it $10 or 20 big (length) fish takes it all.
If majority wants to make it as you suggested then we will all need to meet at a central location.
Safety also as some that have shown interest are strangers to Dale Hollow and would not want them running in the dark on a strange lake.
Starting to ramble dam pain pills

    Re: Informal mini rally (EdDavisKY)

Ed I have a set of scales that I use in our tournament series here in Knoxvillle. I'll bring them and we can do it right there on the bank at First Island or on the rear deck of my boat. There may not be and over 21 caught, and if that is the case you will have to weigh the under's. It doesn't matter to me. I'm just offering to help, not trying to take over. Everyone can decide and just post it up. I would like to meet everyone, the fishiing pot is just for fun and bragging rights. Whatever the rest want to do. Not trying to make this a tournament deal, just a get together and show off boats. If I'm at the 'Hollar. I will be smallmouth fishing sometime that day. You just can't resist it when your there. Whatever you all want to do. Sorry I intervened. Love that place and would like to get to know some of the folks on here.

    Re: Informal mini rally (upscat)

Not a problem, and thanks for offering to bring your scales. Now its wait and see what everyone else wants to do. I do not want a tournament atmosphere either, just bragging rights on this board and for everyone to meet all the other Phoenix owners and the ones who would like to own a Phoenix.

I say we fish from 7 AM to 2 PM .(sun rise@6:09AM; sunset @ 4:42PM) and fish over 21", if now one brings one over 21 biggest under 16". Hmm whats everyone say to throwing spots in the pot, or just keep it small mouth.

This is more of a informal get together so everyone can meet and greet.

Scat I love the place and well and if fishing is bad have been known to just lay down on the front deck and take a nap to the music of the loons.

Man I would love to come out and do this as well. I'd like to meet some of you guys. JR may not want to see me though If you wouldn't mind boats besides Phoenix I would more than likely come out. If so, upscat are you driving in that morning from Knoxville?
