I need to find a gear case part number interchange

I hit a rock and broke the gear case housing on my 1980 Johnson 100 hp Serial #J100TRLCSC. I disassembled it and cleaned inspected the gears and bearings right away. Everything seems to be OK. I'd like to buy a used housing, but don't know what other models, HPs, years, etc. will work with my gears. The sellers on a popular on-line auction site would have me believe they are all the same from 78-94. Hope someone can help.

Thank you Gentlemen. The '78 won't work, as they had a different forward bearing carrier design. A '79 or later V-4 crossflow will be O.K. Stay away from '85 120 H.P. & 140 H.P as these were a one of a kind case, using a V-6 housing. This case would work, but you will have to get another prop and start all over again.
