    Question Rotating Tackle Storage Upfront

How easy does everyone's Rotating Tackle Storage Unit turn upfront. Mine does not want to turn very easy.

    Thanks

Mine was hard to turn as well they said it gets better when full of tackle buut I didn't have any boxes that size so I took my rotating storage out and plugged the seat holes put my rain suit and jackets up there

The rotating storage turns on ball bearings. Mine was a little tight after being in a really bad storm that got water in the compartment. I was tied to a pier and waves were coming over the bow. I took mine out and greased the ball bearings with synthetic high temp grease. Smooth ever since.

I sprayed mine w/ Reel Saver (silicone spray) but it wont last as long as greasing it but wont smell either. As for the RTS, I Lv that thing!

    Billy,
I have mine full of boxes but, it is still a little tight. It does takes a little effort but is perfectly manageable. I love it!

The compartment doesn't stay dry? Hopefully their is an option to NOT get the carousel.

I never had any leaks when the RTS was still in my boat. I'm just one oddball that preferred plain old open storage.

My bad - I guess I ran the 2 thoughts together by mistake. 1. Hopefully the RTS is optional. 2. Doesn't the fromt compartment seal?

Re: Question Rotating Tackle Storage Upfront (rudapa)

The day that my front compartment got wet, a really bad storm hit all at once on Guntersville. The lightning was right on top of us with no warning. There was a boatdock nearby, and we tied the boat to it and ran for cover. There were 3-4 ft waves crashing over the bow. The bilge pump ran non stop for about 10 minutes. I thought the boat was going to sink. That is the only time I have ever had water in any of the boxes. I dried everything out, but didn't think to grease the ballbearings until later.

The system is great as is if you give it a try and there are no leaks. The issue comes from removing it. I personally see no reason to remove it as there are many storage options. In the 721 there is plenty of room in that area for other stuff too!
