I run Amsoil HP Injestor in my 91 Johnson and it runs great. Very little smoke after the initial start up. I think Ben wallace is a dealer here on the site. I just purchased some for a friend to run in his 86 Force and he noticed a differance after the first tank.

I would suggest you run the XD-100.

Depends on how you look at it.

A few bucks for the best possible oil or.....a rebuild.

Actually I have found on the last 2 omc's I ran, GT175 and a 200 Looper, that it smoked less with OMC oil then with penzoil, even the full synthetic.

Haven't tried any yet in my newest engine.

That is what I run per Rusty's suggestion. I noticed a difference right away by switching to XD100. It hardly smokes after it warms up. Of course it will smoke like a camp fire when you first start up cold but after it warms up it is clean burning.

Also remember when you run XD100 you don't have to decarb your motor every 100 hours or so. It has the detergent in the oil to remove carbon while you run. Not sure what you have to pay for XD100 but here it is $40 a gal and XD50 is $35 and a rebuild is $4000. I can buy a lot of XD100 for $4000 bucks.
