    Pheonix 721 and/or 719 speeds??????

I am running a Cat a cougar with a 250 XS the old 91 octane XS. I am curious as to the numbers of these two boats with 250's as compared to what i am running. Not that speed is everything but i have not had a chance to play with any birds yet. I will tell you i fish at 82 with the cougar . I know what scott told me he runs and curious as to how the rest compare number wise. i know in some brands you get one that will run 82-83 and another just like it wont run but 76-77 with the same setup. Not tryin to stir the pot I am asking for info only

Thus far, 719/225 Pro XS. Full gas and tackle with 2 anglers. No water in livewells. 73.

With the SHO 719 we are getting 76 with just me a 1/2 tank of gas and very little gear. Two guys and full tourney loads 72-73.

Doug when I had the lighten 2 with the worked omc 24 raker, my fastest speed was by myself, emtpy livewells, 1/2 fuel..... 79.1 mph on the rev limiter in october temps in south miss on the river.

Full load up east pearl, two guys, full fuel, full livewells.... 75.5 mph @ 6000 rpms same prop.

Now as you know by now I have the M2 and it is a son of a B%#$@ to get propped right. I am now at 75 basically on the rev limiter with 3/4 fuel by myself.

I could have busted 80 with a 25 fury, but didnt get the chance to get the prop.

Before you run the slip is was 5%, and yes I know that sounds far fetched, but my tach was not off because on the engine report max rpm was 6205 and that was when I was on the limiter during that fast run. Now the only thing that could be off is the 24 " pitch raker because I bought it from a guy who had just had croxton work it. He said it was a 24 and it had holeshot like a 24 so im assuming it was. plus being on the limiter like that it could have been much bigger than a 24.

I love my boat and the rough water ride is wonderful. It is great on these rivers also because you can turn this thing like a damn rollercoaster.

just gave it to you...but that's just my rig...as with any boat there are so many factors in boat speed...most importantly would be the driver as i might get 74 out of my boat and junior might get 77...speed is over rated, i'd rather have the handling of my 719 any day compared to what speed i can get out of it...

    Re: Pheonix 721 and/or 719 speeds?????? (basspro)

Best I've seen so far with my 721/SHO is 76.7 WOT on my GPS with a medium load. I'm currently running a 27p Ventless prop that is designed for the SHO on an 8" manual JP and not quite turning 6000 RPM's which I'd like to be able to do.

I think a 26p Ventless prop (Yamaha doesn't make one) would be the best for this boat/motor combo but by no means am I upset with a 21 footer that will run this fast and is as stable to drive as this boat is.

Some say the FURY 26p would be a good set up but I've not tried it so I can't say. Hole shot on mine with the 27p is terrific, so it's a matter of getting the RPM's from 5,800 to 6,000 to see what the impact if any would be.

My 721 with 250 ProXS ran 80 with just me. Actually posted a one handed video of a 78+ short run.

That was with a manual plate, bone stock prop. It was a 76-77 mph boat with two people fishing any day of the week.

Jason Ive been telling Doug about the Birds ever since my buddy started with them, he used to be a BCB guy so Doug knows what Ive seen and witnessed which is Ride,Handling, hole shot, slow speed on plane runs, and Price with what you get....Doug Id never steer you wrong, especially with that Song on your cell phone.....I was skeptical also because of the amount of Birds up north, but Im SOLD.....now if I can learn how to fish we will be good to go....Doug Ill send ya pics of my Hydrostream hull
