    Rod got stuck....

I went to the lake yesterday....when I stopped to get my rods out of the box, one of my rods was hung in the tube....I could not get it to come back out....I had plenty of others so I just left it alone....at home I tried to pull it out but it was still stuck....I took the 3 screws out that hold the tubes in place and slid them back....the rod was still hung....I got my hand and arm up past the tubes and could feel the end of my rod.... the line was hung in some wires toward the front of the boat....I cut the line and the rod slid right out....the rod is 7'....anybody else had this happen ??....I pushed the wires as far forward as I could and put the tubes back in place.....

Happened all the time in my Triton. Just buy some Stik Jackets or similar and that problem will be gone.

I put 5 rods 7' and over along w/ 4 others under 7' in my port side box and so far I have only hung up the 7'9" XH once. That said, I finally took out the rod tubes, not for hanging up but because of the tubes themselves are hard on rod eyes.

I'm with you Hank, took out the tubes and got jackets for the sticks and have no problems.

Nope and I have 2 8 footers (1 flipping stick and a cranking stick) that give me no problems. Not sure what that's all about???

I am using stick jackets on most rods too, protects the guides a bit more.
