what transom saver to order?

Oh boy, that looks real nice. It doesn't put to much stress on the transom? It looks like he shock of a bounch would go right into the motor bracket & transom.

I use one of these and it works great: http://www.lock-n-haul.com/ Plus last I checked, they are a BBC sponsor.

The main concern is damaging the trim cylinder as the engine bounces while traveling down the road. As long as the engine is kept from bouncing, which is what both products mentioned here prevent, there will be minimal load on the cylinder and transom.

I don't use the "traditional" type of transom saver anymore because it puts too much load on the trailer. The rear roller on my old trailer was bent severely because of the transom saver.

I just had a thought. Does it matter that I ordered the boat with a hydraulic jack plate??

I like the lock & haul too..it seems simpler.

This is a subject that is controversial and has been addressed "ad infinitum"... search the forums and do what ever feels good to you. There is no clear answer....

I wonder if Phoenix prefers we go old shook or new school on this one?? I reviewed the seemingly endless posts on his in other forums. I was more curious as to what my Phoenix bretherin were utilizing.

I inquired when I bought my rig and the answer was the Yamaha recommended "MY Wedge". Others also recommended this system.

I asked before I got my boat, and they did NOT recommend the old style transom savers.
