    I did it

After six months of trying to talk myself out of it, I bought a new Phoenix 721 last week from Shipps Marine in Gladewater, TX.

I have not taken delivery of it yet, but I expect to this week. Had to get a keel guard and a starboard rod rack installed in the locker.

I have had my Triton for six years and I loved that boat, but I could not resist the features and fit and finish of the Phoenix. I had to go with a Yamaha 250 since the dealer was a Yamaha dealer. I have had nothing but Mercurys in the past (four of them), and this is really what has bothered me the most. Hopefully I will be happy with the Yamaha.

I can't wait to fish this weekend!

You will be more excited when you pick it up. If you fish tournaments, check out the new "First Flight" Program.

Provide pictures when you get it so we can all see it.

Call JD Shipp at Shipp's Marine in Gladewater, TX. He gave me a great deal. This boat is a great value for the money.

It say's beeline will pay 1/2 of Phoenix amounts, so you're not totally out.

    Bee2100,

The Bee Line boats are not excluded. The payout for those will be at half what the payout is for Phoenix Boats. This is explained on the Tournament Information Page.

the last picture shows one of the things I like best about a Phoenix. The bottom of the console is enclosed. No loose wiring.

    Re: I did it (280ssStroker)

I am going to get the Triton sticker off this evening! I wish Phoenix had some window stickers (or hats for that matter).

I have a confession to make - yesterday while breaking in the motor, I accidently blipped her up to 71 mph. I did not keep it there very long, but I could tell there was more to come. This boat should do 75+ easy.

I did not want to do it (supposed to stay below 3,000 rpm for the first hour), but my foot slipped. The boat felt way more stable than my Triton did at 60 mph.

This is one hell of a boat. There is no way that these guys are not going to be successful.

Once you get it broke in contact HondaRay on the Honda board. He can tell you exactly how high to have the motor, what prop, and what speed you should see. He's the best there is at setting up boats. He runs a Phoenix with a 225 Honda and it runs Good.
