    18 Phoenix update

    Talked with Greg the other night and here is an update guys. Loaded speeds with a 175 HPDI averaging 67mph pretty impressive More to come stay tuned

    I'm betting more speed will come with merc power!!

    Thats still a great loaded to fish speed out of that rig.

    What prop did ya'll run on it junior??Hard to say they will be within 2mph of each other imo!maybe closer!And what is the max hp 175??

    I would like to see it.

    I think the 175 HPDI's are the stoutest 175's out there. Even against the 175 Opti (non proxs). They have MASSIVE torque compared to the 2.5L and are all over the 10%. The only negative is they are considerably heavier than the Merc which will even things out IMO. Not sure what the Proxs brings over the standard opti but it can't be much. 175 is pretty much 175 with these low-revving bass motors. my .02

    Paul the 175 yamaha is stronger on every hull that i have run. Even though I like mercury the edge will go yamaha in the 175 class i feel

    If you are talking about the carb 175 BRP/OMC's they are a nice strong motor. Although I personally have never even seen a 175 ETEC, I have "heard" they are kind of weak for a 175 (makes for a good 150HO) .
