Bought a new Z8 today!

Well i finally took the plunge and bought a left over 2011 Z8 with 250 pro xs! I am scheduled to pick it up this Friday as the boat had a 225 on it and of course i wanted the 250 so they are putting that on for me or i would have taken it home today. I had them go ahead and get me a 26P Fury prop as the 250 engine they had there had a 25p tempest on it. I hope i made the right decision on prop for this boat as i had a choice between the fury or tempest. I am not one to load down my boats i always run them light as speed and handling are my top priority.

What are you guys with the Z8 with 250 pro xs engines running for prop for max speed and handling? Also where do you recommend i start on prop height? Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Will do!! The only thing i don't like is it has hubcaps.. So Im going to have to find me some nice wheels for my trailer haha

Thanks! I went through the Tracker dealer at my local BPS.

Anyone with any recommendations on where to start with the prop height setting or prop selection advise?

I'm running mine with a 27 tempest and I have the motor at 2 7/8 below pad. I've seen 74.2 gps but I'm still on double oil usage during break-in. I know a lot of other guys on here are also running the 27 tempest and are 3 3/16 below pad. I'm running the prop with all three large plugs in but some guys with heavier loads are running 2 large plugs and one of the holes open. This will just give you a starting point, you will have to get her out and dial it in. Every boat is a little different. Congrats on the new boat and post some pics when you get a chance.

Thanks for the info on your setup ryan_todd. I am fully aware i will have to go out and set it up was just looking for some info on what others with the same rig are running and how hole shot and top end are for them. Your info was greatly appreciated!

Did you trade your Ranger in? If so, were they fair with you?

Nope didn't trade it in. It's setting here in the driveway with about 80-100 hrs on the engine "my best est" ready to go to a new home. I need to get it up for sale on here. But i need to look into how to do that first. Haven't had a lot of free time the past couple days.
