    MUCH better

I want to first say thank you for everyone's input and patience with me. This was all very frustrating, but then today was rewarding to make some great progress.

I didn't have as much time as I would have liked on the lake, so I just ran the 24p Trophy Plus with two of the holes fully plugged. I set the jack plate at 3" below pad and pretty much left there other than tweaking it a little on the top end.

Hole shot is dramatically improved, maybe a second slow out of the hole (as compared to the several seconds it was before). Top end much better as well, hit 64.5 and still climbing (as compared to 59.8 max before) when I ran out of lake. RPM's were 6200-6400 max, a little higher than I would like but reasonable with no oil injection.

Going to plug up one more hole and see how she likes that. When I get a little more time (maybe Sunday if the rain holds off), I'm going to put on the 26p Trophy and also a buddy's 25p Tempest Plus and check those out. I think the 26p Trophy will land me at the right RPM's if she'll get me out of the hole.

On a side note, the Hillman hole plugs that someone mentioned a week or two ago work perfect as PVS plugs. They are super cheap, come in black or white, and would be easy to drill whatever size hole you want in them.

    Again, thank you to everyone.

    Re: MUCH better (chillywillie)

U better check ur alarm horn....if ur actually turning 6400 it should be going nuts....
Secondly u are running a gambler...u can stop running those ranger props....no reason u should run anything smaller then 26...
But I'm glad u saw improvements.....

Getting better, 26 trophy was terrible out of hole for me with a 2.5 200 with mods. You need to get your hands on a 25 Trophy Plus for all around and a 26, maybe even a 27 Tempest plus, which was the fastest prop I had.
