    Trolling motor shaft length

What shaft length do you suggest on a Gambler?

    45..

I have a 52" and its way too long, in fact if somebody has a Minn Kota Maxxum pro 45" and they want to try a 52" I would trade it in a heartbeat

45 is the standard...if you fish a lot of big water...then i might go with the longer shaft...the 45 is fine for most......

Re: Trolling motor shaft length (ldbass55)

I had a 45 changed to the 52. Got tired of it bouncing out of the water when in rollers or big house/cruiser boat wakes.

If looking to go with a 52 after a 45 you will want a quick release bracket because so you can install it more fwd. The 52 will hit the seat pedestal most likely if you do not. Mine would stow fine but would rub when in rough water.

I also drilled my own holes in the bracket to mount it where I wanted it
