    Intimidator stability?

    Hello,

I'm in the market to buy a bass boat and have seen a nice '94 Intimidator for sale in my area. To me, the hull design looks like it would be fairly unstable in rougher water. Can anyone with a similar year Intimidator fill me in on any handling issues with these boats?

    Thanks,
    Paul

Welcome to the BBC. You will be amazed at how well the boat handles in the rough water. I don't think it really matters which gambler your in. We all claim to enjoy the ride during rough water and the way it fishes in the same condition.
I have a 95 209 and love the way it handles. Can't you take it for a test drive?

welcome to the BBC I have a 95 Intimidator and the ride is great. Try it out like Mc said Gamblers are a different breed and it takes a while to learn to drive them. Like learning how to drive a sports car. Good luck

I don't have a problem in rough water, in fact I feel a little safer because of how low they sit.

Thanks for the responses. This would be my first bass boat so I don't really have anytyhing to compare it to. Should I look to a different manufacturer for a first boat?

Just respect it. All the neccesary safety gear, it doesn't matter what boat you buy they will all get you hurt if not respected. Just because they will run fast doesn't mean you gotta try to outrun everything on the lake.

    Re: Intimidator stability? (mgeod)

If this is your first boat I would suggest you have a pro. check it out. Gamblers are quality boats but the older ones are prone to some problems. Mine has the top cap coming loose it's fixable but there have been some guys post on here about damage to stringers in the hull. I don't want to scare you off these boats cause they are great boats but just wanted to give you a heads up. Also would have a qualified motor man check out the motor. It will be worth the cost down the road. Good Luck hope you join the Gambler Family

unless the hull is been in some sort of accident, or was seriously abused, and patched over, then any MAJOR problems with a STRINGER would have surfaced by now...
As for the MOTOR, thats a different story... unless you know how to work on motors, i'd definately have it looked at first...
