    Trim tab issues

Heres the deal, got an 01- 2100 Gambler w/ t-tabs. trimming tabs down seems fine but trimming them up they are slower than slow. as a matter of fact I have to hit the switch up then down then up to keep them moving up. seems like they are getting worse every time out. where do I need to start here? is it the actuator? sounds as if the trim motor just doesn't have the strength to bring up tabs. battery's not the problem . can this be fixed without total replacement? I mean they do work but barely. seems it's just a matter of time before they quit working. I know somebody can point me in the right direction who's been there before.

From full deployment to all the way up how long does it take versus going down.

    Re: Trim tab issues (cowtrimmer)

    Going down maybe 8-10 seconds
Going up 30- more than a minute w/ me helping it along up/down/up w/switch.
when I use my tabs to assist on plane I use to time it at about the count of 10 to ensure they were all the way up. I can't do that now. Have to play w/ switch to keep boat from plowing. I can get on plane w/out tabs but holeshot takes forever.

I would make sure that the switch is good and has good contact before I started spending a lot of money. If that doesnt help post back.

Thanks, I'll try that tomm. and then get back. Is that a common toggle switch that I can pickup at a marine hardware?

Tabs should make full cycle in about 7 seconds.

Sounds like the switch. chance of both motors going at the same time is slim.

    Re: Trim tab issues (hdbass)

Took a look at the switch today and a couple of the spade connectors looked and felt loose. after messing w/it for a little bit I got the tabs to work better, 15 seconds down and 20 seconds up. called Gambler and new switch is on the way. I did notice on the switch that there is 8 leads coming off it, the new switch only has 6 spades on it so I'm assuming I'll have to piggyback the black and white wire? my tabs only work when the key is on so I'm thinking this is my power source?

Gambler 248, ya that would be great to find out about the piggybacked black and white wire. my tabs only work when the key is on.
