99 209DC vs 98 imtimidator 2000

I'm looking at purchasing a used gambler and I have found both of these for sale. What are the differences between the two? I can't find any info on the 209DC on NADA.

Any difference in ride, beam, length, options, etc?

All things being equal, which in your opinion is the better boat?

my personal choice would be the 209...i fished out of both...the 209 is better in my opinion...but the condition of the boats should be a big factor in your decision...

Condition on both looks to be about the same. The Intimidator is close by, looked at it and it is in A-1 shape. But is 2 grand more.

The 209 is 500 miles away! The pics I have seen on it looks like it too is in A-1 shape. Electronics are no big deal, taking them off of my existing boat.

The 209 has a 225 EFI merc. The Intimidator a 225 Rude.

Why can I not find any info an a gamber 209 any later than 97? Everything I look up online doesn't seem like a 99 209 even existed. Any ideas why that is?

According to the owner of the boat it is definately a 99 209. He even sent me the serial number of the boat.

As for the evinrude motor, it is a vindicator not a fict...

i thought the last year of the 209 was 97..but i see a few 99 models on the net....i would run the serial number through gambler...i would lean away from the rude..the 225 merc is much easier to get parts and service on...the 209 is a little bigger boat...but its your call...either one of the engines could pop...i would bet either boat would last you a lifetime..but i would have to see each rig before i pulled the trigger....

Called gambler and the serial number is for a 99 209 DC, so yes they did make a 209 in '99
