    Livewell Questions

I just read a previous post about the best way to manage the livewell. Something about leaving the water level two inches below the aerator inlet ( Where the aerator re-pumps the water back in I assume)

Is this commonly done? Does filling the livewell over the inlet lead to it not working properly or efficiently?

I had a 92 206TE and if I filled the wells too full I started losing fish. I started leaving them just a little above half full and never lost another one. The water level made a difference in that boat. The pump wouldnt do anything if the wells were too full.

I have an 04 2200 now and I still only fill them a little over half full. I'm not sure whether or not I can fill them all the way but it's working pretty good like it is so I aint messin with it.

    Re: Livewell Questions (Gambler250)

On my boat I increased the size of the circulation pumps and added the Oxygenater system to each livewell. I fill the livewells up to the overflow and use the recirculation pumps to move water. The Oxygenator maintains the proper O2 levels no matter the water temps. The units are not cheap, but thats for you to decide when a dead fish could cost you a first place finnish.
